Star Wars Night

This past Saturday was Star Wars night for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton penguins and we snagged a few extra tickets to take the girls to the game.

What does one get when they mix hockey and the Rebel and 501st garrisons?

Obi-Wan Tux

We did get one loop around the arena, knock-off lightsabers in hand, to get our pictures with all the characters.

Guarding the janitorial supplies of the Death Star is of top concern.

Wampa

Younglings practicing their skills!

They raise Ewoks bigger nowadays...

All in all, the Penguins won, the kids had a good time and proceeded to duel with their lightsabers the entire drive home.

My favorite part?  The girls left to use the bathrooms during the second intermission and I got the perfect combination of Zambonis on the ice and Weird Al blaring over the PA system.

I've been getting the girls up to speed on the original Star Wars movies (They already have The Force Awakens and Rogue One under their belts in the theatre). Once we finally got done with New Hope, I asked if they had any questions:

Maja: Why didn't Chupacabra get a medal at the end?

I'm still considering it a work in progress....
