(Painting) Endor Rebel Commandos for Star Wars (West End Games)

As I mentioned in my end-of-year recap, my biggest haul of the year was 146 of the metal Star War West End Games minis.  I got more than half ready for play since then, and my next project was going to paint up the Rebel Commandos, for a new faction for my Fistful of Lead "Death Planet Iota" game.

I thought I had properly sorted out all the minis, but the longer I research on the Lost Minis Wiki, the more I realize that not all my "rebel commandos" were from the same boxed set, and some were something completely different.

First off, here's the eight Endor Rebel Commandos I finished up:

I expected a little work as I referenced Lost Minis for stock numbers, boxed sets, and blisters the figures were all in.

I discovered that half of the figures aren't even in the Rebel Troopers boxed set!  That set (40312) has five Endor commando rebels and five classic Tantive IV rebel soldiers.   Of those five, only three figures are represented in this group:

SW102 x2 (Male Commando Shoulder-firing Blaster Pistol) , SW103 (Male Commando w. Poncho & Upraised Blaster Pistol) and SW104 (Male Commando w. Poncho, Upraised Blaster Pistol & Macrobinocular)

The two duplicate females are SW52 (Leia on Endor), who is not part of the Rebel Trooper boxed set, but rather the 40306 Return of the Jedi Boxed Set. She does get to hang out with her rebel brethren, in the 40421 Rebel Troopers IV blister.

The running female is SW29, appearing in 40303 Bounty Hunters Boxed set as Rebel Merc,  and Female Commando Running w. Blaster Pistol in blister 40421 Rebel Troopers IV

Finally, the cool Rodian with the heavy weapon is not even a rebel at all, rather Gorak Khzam (40446c) from the 40446 DarkStryder Crew I blister.

Confession:  The three blue skinned rebels were already base coated with that color, so I touched them up.  They're not Chiss, not Twi'lek, and I'm not about to make them Rogue Troopers quite yet.

Star Wars Queue: 95 out of 146 ready for play.  I know I said I wouldn't track this any more, but we're actually getting closer, and with more Rebel Troopers in the queue...

Next in the Painting Queue:
The other 10 rebels commandos (The full five commando side of the boxed set, plus a Leia, and another Rodian.  Gnomes, Teddy Bears, and old school Mouslings should keep me busy until Thanksgiving... then maybe some holiday figures... All subject to change, of course.

Project 350:  I'm cooking the blogging books!   As of October 1st, I set up all my placeholder posts through October 1st of 2026. I scrubbed my phone of cool pics and set up projects in the drafts, or extended by holiday filler posts.  I'll be wishing everyone a God Jul through 2044!  With that admission of guilt, it's no surprise my drafts and scheduled posts soared in two days to 483 posts (283 drafts/200 scheduled posts)  from 453 (281/172)If I never do any additional blogging, the scheduled posts will drop back down by mid-December of this year.
