The Gnome Knight Revisits Dragon Knight... With Some Treefolk for Good Measure.

It's another crazy basketball weekend, so if the dear reader is looking at this post on Sunday, we're probably trying to interpret a Byzantine bracket for the play-in game of the 2nd place team in the C Pool, or, if my kids do what they do so well, we're fritterin' away time until the Championship Finals at 5:45pm, plus a two hour drive home.

Then only benefit of that wait, beyond the kid's hardware they hopefully win, is that we'll be dog-less through Tuesday.  A man can dream

All that being said, I had a sliver of time this past week, and visited the updated Dragon Knight Games for a second time in a month.   Minor, petty rant forthcoming.

I like the store, and compared to the other stores in the area, I like them A LOT, but in my situation, I can not call them a Friendly Local Game Store (FLGS).

The woman behind the counter has been professional friendly (and I haven't done anything to but return the politeness), and despite only being 2.5 miles from my workplace, the drive into or out of Pittston can take longer my my 17-mile commute home (and yes, I use the much faster backstreets).

That's all the rant I can muster, because I was happy to take 20 minutes of my day and pick up what might be the last painting supplies for some time.

I jump started a zombie project that never went off the ground by picking up some Army Painter Decaying flesh to base coat the whole lot once they're assembled. Throw on some odd purples, a bottle of Leather (how did I not own Leather?), and a dropper bottle of the Decaying Flesh for the inevitable zombie touch-ups.

The other item I picked up is another three packs of the latest Magic set: Strixhaven: School of Mages.  I don't know when I'll ever play, but a few packs and some new and exciting Treefolk (for me) is enough to ponder the mechanics of black and green with the few cards I've picked up.

While I couldn't get any paint on figures this weekend, I did go down and clean up the bench before going to sleep Friday night.  Certain items (magazines and miscellaneous books) have been down there over the last seven years of water in the basement and haven't fared too well,   Repackaging my lead pile into new plastic boxes (Game Stores, I buy Magic cards, Hardware Stores, I buy cheap storage.) still makes it daunting, but I might be able to better organized the painting racks, flocking, and staging area for pictures.
