Unlike the last few previous GM Appreciation Day, this year's celebration didn't fall on a weekend. Monday gaming isn't something most people can get away with...
...unless it's our online D&D 5e game.
I wished our DM, Jeff, a happy GM Appreciation Day, and we proceeded to get lost in underground caverns, have our dragonborn stir up a lair on the biggest freakin' giant spiders I've seen in ages, and have the Tabaxi guide we just befriended the last session become spider food.
Now we're lost in a alternate world, in the bowls of a floating city-state full of slavers, trying to find mythical shards, and a lost Tabaxi colony that might be great allies.
Plus there's the regular batch of tangents Jeff sends us on that we may or may not go back to.... Tangents for the sake of.... oooooh, a squirrel!
