Feather Down is a game about being lost and unsure and moving forward anyway. In Feather Down, your group plays as a migrating animal that got separated from its group as well as the other animals and creatures they encounter. You’ll face challenges of all kinds, make friends, grieve your losses, and celebrate your strengths
As the players, you take turns taking on the role of this poor lost animal, your confidence is challenged and restored, you have to face your fears and deal with all kinds of characters that interrupt your path.
During the setup you pick what kind of animal you'll be playing and how they got separated from their group.
On your turn, you draw a card, that card will have at least one prompt. Based on the prompt you'll tell the next step of the story. Often, there will be another character in the mix and other players can play them. NPCs will get swapped among players, just like the main character you all share.
After the scene, you have three options. 1) Introduce a Character, which lets you roll a twelve-sided die to get a prompt for who you stumble across. 2) Read the Signs, which lets you see a little into the future and set a countdown. 3) Consult Your Instincts, which lets you pose a question to your instincts, during this each player takes on the role of a different instinct and speaks from its perspective.
