When the news of "Steamboat Willie" officially going into the public domain 2024, and the appearance of a Kickstarter based on this character, it was official: I only had 30 other characters to create for the #CharacterCreationChallenge.
Since the project imploded on me last year, Willie makes his appearance for Day 11 for 2025.
I'm including all the public domain cartoons from 1928 in the character concept, Plane Crazy, The Gallopin' Gaucho, and Steamboat Willie. A host of other shorts became public domain as of January of this year, but that can be next year's project.

It's pretty simple, the earliest version of the mouse is a wanderer, a con man, a pushy date, and someone with no direction. The intentional abuse towards animals is something that shocked even me, and I love old school cartoon violence.
