Day 8 of #RPGaDay gives us a very open-ended "Explore"
We've wrapped up one of our mini-campaigns, which allows me the space to explore and experiment with a new system.I've always been a fan of space dwarves, since before the days of Tyrannids devouring their home worlds in 40k.
DAMNIT is a game of space dwarves going on space missions in space dungeons, and it's one of the Kickstarters I pledged to that absolutely hits my demographic.

and my Space Dwarves... er, excuse me, Space Gnomes that I've painted, are ready and willing to go.
The Dwarven Clans abandoned the corrupt and overcrowded Core Worlds, and the arrogance of the elves and humans, for the Galactic Frontier - where they could live as they chose. They thrive in colonies on fringe worlds, they mine for minerals among the asteroid belts and they caravan between stars on mighty citadel ships.
But they aren’t alone out there in the void - the threats are legion. Disappointed with the unreliability of the Galactic Navy in the Frontier (and the frequent corruption of the rangers in the Galactic Patrol) - the Dwarven Council of Elders (also known as the Stone Table) had to do something. They formed their own quick-reaction force. This was DAMNIT (Dwarven Assault Mining and Neutralization Interception Team); highly skilled squads of heavily armed and battle-hardenedagents who handle a multitude of threats to dwarven interests.

From the original rules that came from the Kickstarter, there have been corrections and additions, most notably the character creation rules. To be honest, I was fine with the pre-gens provided, but I am intrigued to see just how far this Rules Lite system can be pushed.
.... and no, I have no idea why every option on DriveThruRPG is $21.95. It's a 35-page PDF/physical copy, with a few extra add-ons. Definitely not worth it at that price, for the Rule Lite or 5e compatible rules. Fainting Goat has 38 items $10 and over, while over $250 under $10 bucks, so I don't know where or why the cut-off is for pricey product is that way.
