Into the Depths of HobLob

I did probe out from my hermit existence this weekend.  My budget was a little less than nothing, but I needed paint for a current project, so I descended in the bowels of hell, er, Hobby Lobby.

I have lamented the decline of Michael's, at least for my specific hobby needs, and despite Hobby Lobby being one of those places I try not to shop at, they always have my paintbrushes in stock and about 40% less than other places.

I grabbed my paint, two more brushes (at 40% the usual cheap price), and perused the 50% Christmas stuff.

I did have to laugh, I remember buying a set of evergreen trees at the dollar store awhile ago.  It's a normal assortment of one big tree, a bunch of tiny trees, and enough usable ones in the middle, all with white "snow" bases.   They've served me well over the years.

That same bag at Hobby Lobby?  $11.00 before discount.    I passed on augmenting my trees.

I did grab a bunch of candy canes, perfect for a candy cane land, or perhaps weapons.  My true impulse buy was these six ornaments.

Whenever I get to have a holiday game with the girls this year, I believe these will make the most obvious, and most competitive objective markers since marshmallow peeps and jelly beans.
