Thumbnail Sketch:
It is impossible to provide a true thumbnail sketch of Ras-Prythax, unless it were the thumb of a cloud giant, or a dragon perhaps. The vast and diverse lands of Ras-Prythax, from the coastlines of the northern seas, to the dark mystical forests, and the and the majestic mountain peaks, all fall within the footprint of the  three iterations of the Empire of Feraso, and the grandeur and decadence and even ruin is evident in every corner.   To travel from the fishing town of Wharfshave in the northwest County of Devarnish to the deadly Sotet Forest in the far eastern reaches of the Grand Duchy of Vrianios is well over 300 leagues, unless one can procure a windship of some sort.

The Kingdom prides itself on being the true and honorable descendent to the lineage of the empire, but after barbarian incursions, political infighting, and the recent collapse of the short live Third Empire, many would consider it a lumbering economic and military behemoth, unable to get out of its own way.

Krugraf (King) David III is the absolute ruler of the land, although he and the prior rulers are usually wise enough to let the individual dominions rule with only "holy guidance" for the palace in Feraso City.  In the last hundred years they've seen the mountainous Kingdom of Markovia break away and the territories of the Weissmach in a constant state of political flux.   In recent time prior to the publication of this Gazetteer, Krugraf David has forced oaths of loyalty, but not full submission to the crown, of all the independent lords of the Weissmach, often by point of the sword, and has actively sent all homeless, vagabonds, and ne'er do wells into 'the frontier of the Empire.'  How this improves the Kingdom, or impacts the Weissmach remains to be seen.

The Castles:  Hundreds of years have allowed the nobility to construct fabulous castles, from the royal palace to the lowly baronial family.  Most still could have a defensive purpose, but for most, they are significant landmarks for traveler and commoners alike.

The Ferasean Roads: One of the greatest projects within the continent, the Ferasean road system was started during the reign of the Leif III of Feraso, and despite, wars, barbarian incursions and disasters, has largely remained the finest system of cobblestone roads in the known world.

That being said, ensure any such characters as to would invoke a toll have the suitable parchments claiming they have such a right, and have steel at the ready if they can't prove it.

And should there ever be a reason one wouldn't take the roads, the many of the rivers in Ras-Prythax are fully navigable for cargo or persons.

The Knights of Feraso:  The nobility of Ras-Prythax tend for focus on the superiority of their Knights of Feraso, the highest knightly order, but the truth is, those who have either failed to join or fail to maintain their strict standards are some of the most dangerous folks on the continent.

Treat these knights with the utmost respect, for some are far less patient than their brethren with tolerating fools.

Religion:  Akana (God of Law and Order) is the Royal Faith. One can find a temple to them in even the smallest village, although other Ferasean gods are actively worshipped, and the more obscure faiths are practiced in the villages.

Geography of Note:

Feraso City:  There are older cities in the world, but Feraso City has stood as a capital for some form of nation for over 1,000 year.  Be its academies for magic, martial learning, deep academics, even their famed Bardic College, Feraso is full of knowledge and riches.  The Imperial Zoo, opened less than twenty years ago, is one of the most diverse menageries of creatures in the world.

Feraso City

The Silverforge Mountains:  An extension of the Dwarven Skyforge Mountains, spreading across the southern lands.  The dwarven city of Thurazor is at the far eastern end, near Mount Karleth.

The Temple of Elemental Evil: The Viscounty of Verbobonc is bucolic and peaceful, but within its forest lies the foulest Temple of the Evil Elementalists the world has ever known.

The finest warriors of Feraso, Ras-Prythax, and mystical lands beyond have claimed they have defeated all the denizens within the temple,  razed the structures above and below, and magically secured all entrances when they realized they could not.  None of it matters.  There is something within this cursed area that calls the agents of chaos and evil to serve the those who control the basic components of the world.  Those foolhardy to attempt to add to the casualties the Temple has created are advised to use the Old Gnarley Road to Griffon's Cove for safety and sustenance, rather than the assumed Hommlet or Nulb.

The Monastery of White Glass: Perched above Lake Virencia in southwest Vrianios, the monastery welcomes scholars, seers, and alchemists to use their archives of ancient Ferasean records and numerous tomes of prophecy through many faiths and pantheons.  Each of their  beautiful stained-glass windows are well documented, but uncounted visitors have claimed seeing moving, evolving visions within the glass personalized to only them.

Castle Benecula:  Seat of the ruling Riedlin Family in the Barony of Bencula, overlooking the river valley.  The land is known for exotic vineyards that would not normally grow there, as well as a massive underground vault that stores and extensive catalog of vintages.    But it's what's connected the vault that intrigues many.    Passageways from the vault have been known to connect to other dominions, the NetherDeep, even possibly mystical lands far beneath the rock.   One should take note that this tunnel system is extensive throughout the barony, there are other entrances through the land, and as explorers are trying to enter, there are many variety of foul denizen trying to get out.
