Last year, our local shopping district was beset upon by a tornado. Only a few minor injuries were involved but a number of buildings saw catastrophic damage.
Our local Barnes & Noble caught mid-range damage and was forced to relocate for the holiday season while they remodeled. We finally managed to get over there since they've reopened, and it's turned into their new Nerd-vanna. CDs, DVDs, and Vinyl no longer dominated the back of the store. Now it's board games, party games, Funko Figures, and every other geek trope that makes money.
Nothing demanded an impulse purchase (the RPG books are not in this section? Peculiar...), but this caught my eye: Pizza Party.
Back in the day, one of the greatest $2 impulse buys for any store that knew about them where Flying Buffalo's Pizza Dice. Two six-sided dice with pizza toppings on each side. One was meats, the other veggies. Great gimmick, great addition to anyone's dice bags, and recently retooled via a Kickstarter.
The game looks rather simple, but for ten bucks retail, the dice alone are a bargain.
