Perusing the deluge of of #Zinequest entries currently on Kickstarter, the Monster Rangers Roleplying Game caught my eye. The very survival/scout handbook look of the book and the tagline of "Occult Pulp Adventure Set in 1913" led me to look into it more. It looked pretty polished and nearly ready for the July 2023 delivery date, so I was further intrigue, even if the game was largely powered by Fate. I was even cool with two 32 page zines, the Player's Sourcebook and the Warden's Sourcebook for GMs.
The next pledge level for a #Zinequest product is $55 and includes the following:

At second glance, all of Steam Crow's previous Kickstarter were cool and kitschy vintage inspired monster gear, hats, t-shirts, patches, and the like. It makes sense that they would throw all the bells and whistles into the promotion.
But dudes and dudettes, it's #zinequest. Some of us don't want all the accoutrements.
The good news is the two basic zines are available as add-ons, at $18 apiece. Although this Kickstarter hits a lot of my normal demographics, I believe the kids used to use the term bougie for something like this. They've easily rocketed through through pledge goal, and I wish them the best for the remainder of the campaign, and a timely fulfillment.
