(Painting) The Walls of Lake's Jetty

It has been a full two years since the last "episode" of season three of the "Egypt Game" I've played with my girls since 2015.  The big Season Four premiere has been on permanent delay, since then, as real life and other projects have sideline the big production number.

I daresay, we're finally one step away from that actually occurring, with the walls and gate to Lake's Jetty finally assembled.

This is a relatively simple project that never got onto my painting queue.  Toothpicks and ka-bob skewers, shoved into clay and reinforced with horizontal craft sticks.  The gate is a quick combination of balsa and thin plasticard strips.
"This makeshift gate is supposed to stop an errant hippo or wandering crocodile, nothing more..."

Located 100 miles upriver from the unruly town of Sohai, Barnaby Lake established this way station for explorers and adventurers heading into the far distant ruins beyond the banks of the river and the nearby jungles further south.  Only the most dastardly individuals have recognized this as a neutral, temporary safe haven for the weary adventurers, heading to or from their greatest escapades.

Maja Millie and her award-winning team of archaeologists, big game hunters, and Swedish adventurers are well within that acceptable range of days at Lake's Jetty, yet they are all staring out into the scrubland, trying to make out exactly what was making the small cloud of dust on the horizon.

In the Painting Queue - Besides the final project before Lake's Jetty is ready, a Halloween game project, and I just primed up a pile of of miscellaneous items to clear out a box (and possibly double my yearly painting totals in the last week).

Project: 350 -  474 (316/158) from 461 (308 drafts/153 scheduled).  I have have some more holiday posts added, plus some prep work for the #CharacterCreationChallenge all the way in January 2024.
