5 Mai 543 - Village of Mere, Barony of Gulluvia
The locals who frequented Ye Olde Falling Noble Spoon were caught off guard by the passionate ravings of local scholar, Hugo Swam 'Pas.
He claimed his dear friend Marleen Furribottom had been captured by a heavily armed contingent of green skinned monsters, armed to the teeth within the abandoned Mentzer Gem Mine. The Baronial Guard could easily handle it, but they weren’t scheduled to arrive for at least another month. If only the bravest and finest of the village could assemble to rescue her!!!
I recruited two halflings and.... a..... a thing. Beulah Cragbottom and Bodo were two resourceful halflings around town, but Hugo also acquired the services of Slothina, a hulking mass of (allegedly) woman who liked to wear an executioner's hood and swing a giant maul. Her conversation was about as good as her rumored looks, so away they went, back to the old mines.

Hugo's famed combat maneuvers... |
GM Notes: Gulluvia is a fast paced world played over Roll20, not one of my long-winded tales. Hugo and Marleen were two characters rolled up by Steve, who attempted to investigated the old dwarven mines that had been shut down for generations, only to be beset upon by a small gang of goblins. Hugo left Marleen for dead, although he's suffering from the pangs of this adventure... perhaps it's what guilt feels like... and why he recruited others to rescue her... or at least finish exploring the ruins.
