Miss Maja's Excellent Birthday Adventure

Fourteen years ago I was blessed to have Maja appear in my life.  She was the perfect "starter baby," which lulled us into having a second child and the drama and excitement of Millie.

For somebody who would much rather be reading book after book locked up in her room, she's incredibly active.  These three months of track, dance, and AAU basketball drains my life essence, yet she continues to hit honors in school.  And for a moody teenager, she still pulls out all the sweetest things out of the blue, like babysitting Millie's teammates younger siblings during games or even checking on me to see how I'm doing.

While Millie goes on zany adventures at the drop of a hat, Maja is much more my level of chill.  We're down to one convention a year, at best, but she's still super-excited about getting to game, and even spent some time at the painting table, although it was for a school project  (pictures have been promised).

From Skillets to Hurdles, she can do it all.
She also has a stubborn streak a mile long.  Stubborn enough to listen to me and develop near prefect form on the hurdles while still in junior high, but insistent that the track coaches global workout routine for all 100+ kids is enough to get her the speed she needs.

And one day, one day... she'll move on to three-stepping hurdles instead of her new (and much faster) four step alternating style.
