(Kickstarter) Warzone Eternal by Res Nova

EDIT:  Less than two weeks into the campaign, Res Nova cancelled the Kickstarter. citing low enthusiasm from the Warzone community, and less than stellar funding.  They had already reached the Kickstarter goal, but things went silent right afterwards.  More to come, I assume.

Warzone is a game the just won't seem to die, so it makes sense that Res Nova Games has called the new iteration Warzone Eternal now available on Kickstarter.

Gone are the racks and racks of minis I remember well, as things are streamlined down to a skirmish game.

The original five megacorporations are still there - Bauhaus, Capitol, Cybertronic, Imperial, and Mishima, but initial pledges for Unit boxes that will allow you enough pieces to build a five-man unit out based on 6-8 different options (medics/leaders, Blood Berets and Golden Lions for Imperial, as an example).

The Dark Legion (Algeroth) is still around, although figures for them are available as 6 Undead Legionaires, a pick and choose for Necromutants and Centurions (out of 3 options), or just one giant Razide... all at the same rate.

In a world where prices are spiraling out of control, $25 for the pdf and hard copy of the rules feels like a steal, but I'm still wrapping my head around $40 for five base figures, no matter how many companies have adopted this structure over the last ten years.   It might just be the me getting old, or me having a shoebox full of unopened Warzone blisters hiding in my basement.
