Perhaps it's the old fuddy-duddy grognard gamer coming out, but there is a ton of crap coming out. Now, I didn't say this crap isn't going going to sell, or at least interest some people, but thanks to things such as crowdsourcing for the cottage industry and acquisitions at the higher end we may be reaching a saturation point for the brick and mortar stores. This wouldn't be the first time this happened, in fact, it's a regular part of the business cycle. However, crowdsourcing will allow some companies to remain in business, keeping the distribution channels clogged with product.
This month's Game Trade Magazine has a ton of August releases, most probably scheduled for, but won't attain GenCon debut. I'm sure there's a dedicated fanbase looking for an Orphan Black board game or Doomtown Reloaded expansions, but that's the style of the solicitations for the month.

It's been awhile since GW introduced figure cases. I still have one of two GW cases I bought around 2001-2 and I thought $45-50 was overpriced back then. Now we're talkig $83-$124 to house your armies (the $50 version is called a "skirmish" case, so you can imagine the smattering of figures is could hold.). Between this, and watching someone at the FLGS actually buy an $18 can of GW primer, I don't have the heart to mention insanely priced pieces of plastic, and their overrated paper weights, I mean codexes.
