Fria Ligan is a Swedish publisher that has already produced Tales from the Loop, Mutant: Year Zero, Forbidden Lands and the ALIEN RPGs.
Now, they've teamed up with Marc Miller of Traveller and GDW fame to tackle one of the mistreated grandaddies for 80's and 90's gamers: Twilight: 2000.
The game stays true to its roots, although now the 1991 military coup to remove Gorbachev succeeds and the Soviet Union remains intact.
The boxed set (yes, BOXED SET) will include a Player's Manual, a Referee's Manual, and a huge full color travel map of Central Poland on one side, and southern Sweden on the other.
Only downfall (for some)? This version of the game will use Fria Ligan's Year Zero Engine, although they promise it to be much crunchier to represent the gritty, realistic feel of the original. With a good conversion, and perhaps a release in a post-COVID world, this may motivate me to expand my Challenge Challenge.
